History

FRC Team 1647 was founded 19 years ago by Mr. Chuck DiVincenzo as the robotics team for Seneca High School. In our rookie year, with only four members, we were able to win Highest Rookie Seed in the Newton Division. After our initial success, the Iron Devils continued to grow in both size and accomplishments.  We opened our team to students from the entire Lenape Regional High School District, including Cherokee, Lenape, Seneca, and Shawnee High Schools. As we continued to grow, we eventually gained enough members to help form Storm Robotics, the FRC team for Cherokee and Lenape High Schools, in 2009. We have also assisted in the formation of FTC teams, such as the Platinum Devils, FTC Team 6018.

Many of our other successes throughout our history can be seen through the awards we have received from FIRST.
